The Inheritance Games series by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

Genres: Mystery, Fiction

Okay i need to admit, i just fell in love with the characters and the whole story. Avery and Jameson i like you both together but Grayson darling you deserve better. (My friend and I actually had a long debate about it. such a drama queen) Now ask me why I've gone nuts? blame the book not me, i am mentally healthy thank you very much.

The series kicks off with the first book, "The Inheritance Games," where we meet Avery Grambs, an ordinary girl who suddenly becomes the heiress to a billionaire's fortune. But there's a catch – she has to live in the extravagant Hawthorne House and unravel a web of family secrets and mysteries to secure her inheritance.

What I loved most about this series is the intricate plotting and the puzzles that are scattered throughout the books. Jennifer Lynn Barnes weaves a complex tapestry of clues, riddles, and hidden messages that kept my brain working overtime. Just when you think you have it all figured out, she throws in another twist that leaves you questioning everything. It's like playing a high-stakes game of chess, and you can't help but get hooked.

The characters in this series are another highlight. Avery, the main protagonist, is smart, determined, and resourceful. She's not afraid to dive headfirst into dangerous situations to uncover the truth. And the Hawthorne family members? They are a fascinating bunch, each with their own quirks, secrets, and motives. The dynamics between the characters, the alliances, and the constant guessing of who can be trusted adds an extra layer of intrigue.

The writing style is fast-paced and keeps you turning pages. It's not overly complex, making it an easy and addictive read. The author knows how to build suspense and keep you guessing until the very end. I found myself staying up late into the night, unable to put the books down because I needed to know what happens next.

However, I will admit that there were a few moments where the story stretched the boundaries of believability. Some plot twists felt a bit forced or convenient, but honestly, the thrilling nature of the series made me overlook those minor flaws. After all, when you're caught up in a whirlwind of mystery and intrigue, you're willing to suspend disbelief and just enjoy the thrilling ride.

Overall, if you're a fan of puzzles, secrets, and suspenseful storytelling, the Inheritance Games series is a must-read. Jennifer Lynn Barnes delivers a captivating tale filled with twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the very end. Just be prepared to lose track of time and dive headfirst into a world where nothing is as it seems. Happy reading, my fellow sleuths!
